Here is the bike when we first took off. It has two backpacking packs on attached with a rope and bungee + a hula-hoop! There are two full saddle bags as well on the back seat. We also like to pretend that the reflectors make a big difference in terms of our safety. This picture was taken just outside of Forest's house.

We have been packing and unpacking and packing and unpacking for a couple of weeks now and we have it mastered our packing techniques.

The weather has been kind to us so far, and the packs seem to tolerate the bumps and rain. We even had a day of hail outside of South Park, Colorado... yes, South Park does not solely exist as a lowly cartoon on television.

From Beginning to end

Margret and Forest left Portland Oregon on the 24th of August in this the year of 2009. They carried two large backpacks on the back of a motorcycle (a shnazy Honda 1982 cx500c). These two young homo sapiens one male and one female cruised at approxiamately 60 mph along the concrete path of western civilization.
